Tell us about one experience in your current position that just blew you away and that you were really excited about.

The most important thing Malorie experienced was being valued by one of the companies that recruited her. She had a distinct experience with them and felt that they valued and trusted her. For example, she had a significant desire to be involved in recruiting, even as an intern. The company gave her the autonomy to lead the recruiting efforts at her University and made it clear that she was someone important to them.

What was your biggest or one of your biggest failures in getting to where you are today?

Malorie was fully committed to her GPA and felt that she had great social skills; however, due to the University she picked, she felt like the odds were against her for Big 4 accounting firms opportunities. Have a listen to see what she did to overcome being a student at a smaller University and landing the internship she desired.

She wasn’t able to get in touch with one of the companies that she really wanted to work for and they weren’t active at her University, so have a listen to find out how she was able to reach out and move forward in the process with that company!

What is a great resource you used along the way that helped you to get where you are today?

The people. This biggest resource that Malorie used throughout the entire process was the collection of individuals she met along the way. She would keep in touch with them, invite them out for coffee, and take advantage of all the connections and resources she could.
